Programs

  • Community Meals.  What started as a community breakfast over 10 years ago has grown into serving  over 100 hot meals on a daily basis in our fellowship hall.  Through our partnerships with the RegionalFood Bank, local grocers and several restaurants, we are able to serve excellent meals throughout the year.  The meals create a valuable time of fellowship and connection for those in the community who are suffering and require attention.
  • Recovery Housing. The Recovery House Program was initiated in 1999 as one residence for people overcoming addiction and has grown to the point where we now oversee 6 separate houses with capacity for 30 residents.
  • Celebrate Recovery.  In late 2008 we established a Celebrate Recovery Program. Since that time it has grown into a large ministry of recovery, helping people heal from their ‘hurts, habits, and hang-ups’ in a positive Christian setting.  We invite anyone who is struggling on a personal level to join us on Wednesday nights.  Dinner is served in the fellowship hall at 5:45, CR worship service is at 6:30.  This is followed by small group discussions and a time of informal
  • Summer Kids Club.  In 2000, a local college intern started a summer program for children.  The program was designed to offer a safe and healthy alternative to the idleness and neglect that neighborhood childrenwere experiencing.  ‘Summer Kids Club’ is now an annual event that lasts for several weeks each summer and serves as many as 30 children from our area.
  • Daily Support Group.  Every morning at 8:30 we gather in the prayer room to start the day with others insharing a time of support, prayer, and encouragement.  The meeting is an open time of sharing where people are welcomed in to discuss their various challenges and victories in a safe and supportive small group setting.
  • Shower Facilities.  The homeless have many needs.  As we meet our neighbors and become acquaintedwith their circumstances, we first try to help in simple and straightforward ways. For someone living onthe streeta hot shower is one of those simple gifts.  Our facilities are made available each morning to those who might otherwise have nowhere  else to clean up.
  • Clothing Room.  The OKC Compassion clothing room is stocked withused items donated by people from all over Oklahoma City.  Clothing, shoes, blankets and other items are provided free of charge.
